Giordano Lombardo, Gavi di Gavi 2023

Near the medieval village of Gavi, Giordano Lombardo's 20-hectare biodynamic farm is surrounded by oak woods and vineyards on the Piedmont-Liguria border. Here, Cortese di Gavi and Barbera are cultivated with biodynamic care, creating wines that authentically express the region’s unique terroir, traditions, and natural beauty. Gavi di Gavi 2023 is a enveloping and elegant Cortese. The grapes were hand-harvested and aged for 8 months in barrel and 3 months in bottle prior to release. Aromas of green apple, white peach, and citrus zest mingle with floral notes and a hint of almond. The palate is rich and refreshing, showcasing bright lemon, pear, and a mineral undertone. A clean, zesty finish completes this gastronomic Italian white. A great pair with roast chicken or cheese.
